Meeting Minutes
February 22nd, 2024 06:00 PM at East Missoula Fire Department
Roll Call: Cyndie Winchel, Meggan Quigley, Michael Bushey, Dusty Deschamps, Paula Niccum
Kurt Fossen from Trenchless Solutions came to speak to the board about deadline and communication issues related to their portion of the project. We asked him to come up with documentation of his questions and issues and hope to schedule a board meeting where both Kurt and Amy Deitchler can be present to discuss as a group.
Approval of Minutes: Dusty made a motion to approve the minutes, Michael seconded. The motion carried and minutes were approved.
Financial Information: No financial report recieved from the count yet. Report will be read and voted on at the next meeting.
Public Input: None.
Old Business:
- Cyndie went up to look at the booster station vault drain with the excavator. They ran a camera up the line and found some problems which may make it more expensive to repair. All repairs should qualify for funding from the grant. The excavator is also going to address the elevation drop to the well house, put a french drain around the well house and an entry slab at the front door of the building.
- No parking signage will be posted at the well house and all lockes re-keyed when the work is done.
- The pumps will be inspected to determine how much life they have left in them as well as to see if there was any damage to them during the demo and replacement of the building.
- Mapping of all water lines in the system is still on the list of projects- Amy is working it.
- Amy tracked down the issue with our tank alarm system and addressed fixing our telemetry system. The company that supplied our original telemetry system (Scadaflex) went out of business in December of 2023. The electrician who installed that system updated everything for us and everything still works, we should be able to contact him if we have any problems.
- Website overhaul- Mike Lilley is still working on the new website, information has been transferred and the new site is live, we will contact Mike if there are things that need attention.
- SMS system- Working on fine-tuning when the calls should be going out. Contact sheet mostly updated and there are new numbers in the system.
- Solar panels are under consideration for the future.
- Generator- under consideration for the future. If we do go with a backup generator, it would be to provide service to the homes above the booster staton in case of loss of power.
New Business:
- Still working on SOW documents for contracted positions.
- The board is working on a response to homeowners who have non-compliant water lines that were recently discovered. Legal advice will be sought and then decisions made on appropriate response.
- Recommendations from Water Operator- The board will invite Andy to come to our April meeting to discuss his recommendations.
- Water Ordinance update- work is ongoing and we should get mor input from Andy when he comes to our April meeting.
- Cyndie and Gary researched and solved the problems with meters that did not read last meter reading cycle. Startin second meter had been disconnected for the cold weather, Abuhl meter had a broken wire and faulty radio and had to be repaired and reactivated.
