Sunny Meadows Missoula County Water & Sewer District Minutes
Board of Directors’ Meeting, Bonner Elementary Community Room
September 3rd, 2009
Board Members Present: Mike Lilley, Cyndie Winchell, Mike Huber, Bill Engelstad &
Tom Walter—also attending were Sherry Postma, Paula Niccum, and Kirk Hattunan.
1. Roll Call—Cyndie Winchell called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. All board
members were present.
2. Approval of Minutes,
a. Board members affirmed reading last month’s minutes electronically.
b. Bill move, Mike Huber seconded. The minutes of August were
unanimously approved.
3. Financial Report was read by Mike Lilley.
a. Mike explained the budget and detailed expenses and revenue. He
also explained the budget verses actual amounts.
b. Cindy reported that one home owner is over due on water payments.
There is a chance of a shut off soon. Brian will be notified. Over all
everyone else is pretty much paid up.
c. Bill Engelstad move-Mike Huber seconded.
4. Old Business
a. A lengthy debate regarding future water rates was discussed. The
board will soon be sending out notices of the possible choices. The
board is still seeking voluntary input from everyone. Once a new rate
is established it will most likely be instituted January of 2010.
5. District Open House
a. Board members will man both the new pump house and well house on
open house September 27th, from 1 PM to 4 PM. The board highly
recommends everyone living in the district to take time out of there
busy schedules to take part. We feel everyone will be pleased at the
accomplishments. Keep in mind a person attending the new well
house must walk up to the well house as there is no place to park.
6. New Business
a. Being the new tank’s warranty will be up soon it was suggested that
we possibly should have it tested for possible damages or flaws. After
talking to Craig Pozega from Great West Engineering our concerns
were rested. Our tank is not likely to falter due to its great
construction.
b. Due to the large amounts of rain we recently received several places at
and around the well and well house were washed out. Being under
warranty it will be soon repaired.
c. The sewer is in urgent need of repair. A valve must be replaced which
will require some digging. Were hoping the drain field will not
require complete replacement. This would be very expensive. At this
time the Postma’s, living right next to the drain field are having a
problem with the smell. Paterson will be contacted to research the
sewer problem and the board will make arrangement to have it
repaired.
7. Adjournment:
a. At 8:30 Bill moved—Mike H seconded. The meeting unanimously
adjourned.
